Villeroy & Boch launch Octagon and Squaro Prestige with sparkling Swarovski crystals
Design, premium quality and exclusivity – Villeroy & Boch combines these aspects in two extraordinary luxury products. The Chinese star designer Steve Leung has created an exclusive design for Octagon and
Squaro Prestige with Swarovski crystals. The result is breathtaking. The pedestal washbasin and free-standing bath, wrapped in countless crystals, sparkle glamour and luxury never seen before.
Shan Shui the Source of inSpiration
The traditional Chinese shan shui landscape painting inspired Steve Leung to create the extravagant design with Swarovski crystals. In Chinese, the term shan shui refers to landscapes and is composed
of the characters for mountain and water. Mountain landscapes, rivers and waterfalls are typical shan shui elements.
Steve Leung has given shan shui a contemporary twist for the Octagon and Squaro Crystals Edition, full of poetry and completely serene. It has resulted in a wonderful liaison between brilliant cut Swarovski crystals, whose arrangement subtly recreates mountain contours, and the finest leather that gently coats the Octagon pedestal washbasin and the Squaro Prestige bath panel. Leung has managed to unite
natural premium materials with exquisite craftsmanship to create a design radiating self-confidence and sensuality while maximising the visual and tactile experience.
Sparkling Crystals
Steve Leung’s design portrays mountain and water silhouettes using thousands of Swarovski crystals on the Octagon and Squaro Prestige. Leung chose Swarovski Xirius Rose crystals in the three sizes 5 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm, which glitter brilliantly thanks to their special cut. Lovingly crafted, nearly 5,000 of these crystals were applied to the leather for the bath and more than 1,000 for the washbasin. They create a vivid effect of depth that appears even more magical with the sparkling precious crystals.
Today, after more than 120 years, Swarovski, the Austrian family-owned and –run company, renowned for the quality and technological innovation of its precision-cut crystal, pays homage to the company’s rich
history and heritage, inspired by the spirit of its founder Daniel Swarovski.
Octagon and Squaro Prestige are not the first Villeroy & Boch premium products to have been refined with Swarovski crystals: various models in the LaFleur exclusive taps and fittings collection are also available with Swarovski crystals.
Octagon and Square Prestige
An octagonal shape – the symbol of perfection since antiquity – has been given precise angles and thin walls for the Octagon pedestal washbasin. Thanks to the innovative TitanCeram material, a basin
was created with an elegant Edelweiss Matt finish, complemented by delicate facets and a brilliant cut.
The free-standing Quaryl® Squaro Prestige bath is a refined version of the exclusive Squaro Edge 12 bath and represents elegant uniqueness. Every single product has been painstakingly decorated by hand in a German factory. It comes in a choice of real wood veneers made of Rouble Burl Wood, Satin Walnut, Yew, European Oak and Smoked Oak, making every single bath a one-off.
