The newest creation of Van Cleef & Arpels, the Lady Arpels Planétarium watch as part of the Poetic Astronomy Collection illustrates the Sun and the closest planets: Mercury, Venus and finally Earth, along with its natural satellite, the Moon in a spectacular way.
With the sun forged in pink gold, placed in the middle of the dial the three closest planets orbit around it at its actual speed. For instance, the Earth on the dial makes one complete rotation in 365 days, Mercury 88 days and Venus 224 days and in a key innovation for this piece, the Moon itself rotates around the Earth in 29.5 days.
The watch will officially be presented during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2018 (SIHH) 2018, in Geneva from January 15th - 19th
