Luxury Hamilton Grand Residences set new Scottish property record

A luxury flats complex which overlooks the famous golfing hot-spot St Andrews Old Course has set a new Scottish property sale record.

The Hamilton Grand development a 122-year-old building, which original opened as the Grand Hotel in 1895 at the time of a rapid expansion of St Andrews as a popular tourist destination has in the last few years been elegantly converted into 26 luxury flats by estates firm Kohler & Co and according to The Scotsman, the development has become such a sought after residential location that it has now set a new top price of £2,490 per square foot.

Offering 26 apartments - 22 two bedrooms, 1 three bedroom and 3 four bedrooms with asking prices starting from £1.05 million for a two bedroom apartment and from £4.1 million for a four bedroom apartment.

According to reports by The Bank of Scotland the average property sale price in The Scores, where the complex is situated at its corner with Golf Place, was £2,179,000 last year. St Andrews, which also boasts Hepburn Gardens at 66th Orchard Row at 73rd and West Burn Lane at 88th, is now the only location outside the top three cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen to appear in the top 20 list.
