All that shimmers is indeed gold!

Located in Downtown Manhattan's Lower East Side, 96 Orchard St, currently looks like any other condominium building but this spring the 94-unit building will undergo a transformation and become the must have address for those looking t to stand out from the crowd.

Why? because the building will be the first residential building to be covered in gold. Yes you heard it right GOLD!!

Built in collaboration between Adam Rolston at INC (who developed the interior design) and Ben Shaoul, founder of Magnum Real Estate Group and co-developed by REEC, 60,000 artisanal Spanish bricks infused with 24K gold dust will be used to give this building a unique gold façade

“We felt that a traditional glass structure didn’t mesh with the surroundings,” says Rolston, "and so, to make the apartment building stand out further in the crowd of buildings, a façade made of gold bricks will certainly give the exterior a “muscular character, reminiscent of the workshops and manufacturing structures that once dominated the area,” comments the interior designer.

The interiors of the apartments will also be as opulent with condos ranging in size from studios $965,000 to four-bedrooms $6,500,000. Warm materials with a rich, natural, refined, and rough look will blend perfectly with the gleaming facade that over time will oxide taking on a darker, richer bronze effect.
